Small Mammal Care

Welcome to St. Francis Animal Hospital. We strive to provide exceptional medicine and surgery to our small mammal patients.

We have been a well-respected small animal, avian and exotic practice since 1992. A significant percentage of our practice is comprised of small mammal patients, including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, and hedgehogs. We offer complete medical and surgical care, including radiology, laboratory analysis, ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery, radiosurgery, endoscopy, preventative medicine, and basic behavioral consultation. We understand that despite their small size, the bond you share with these animals is just as great.

Our veterinarians are dedicated to the practice of small mammal medicine and surgery. Our veterinarians are active members of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV) and devote a significant portion of their continuing education on the annual AEMV conference and other local and national meetings. In addition, our doctors subscribe to the Veterinary Information Network Small Mammal Boards, Exotic DVM Online, the Veterinary Clinics of North America Exotic Practice, Seminars in Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine, and Exotic DVM to continually further their knowledge on small mammal medicine and surgery.

We hope these articles will provide you with answers to the questions that you have regarding the special small mammal in your life. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to helping you keep your pet healthy.
